ARCHITECTURAL UNIT

(AU) is commonly known as Technical Design Services  deals with design works for public-government office buildings, living quarters or government residential houses, large complex edifices, Mwaneabas, sport building facilities and so forth. Unfortunately the AU doesn't provide design assistances to private individuals nor private commercial enterprises. Other than design/drafting works, the department also responsible for the following:

·         Site Planning, Site Analysis and Master planning

·         Site survey and reporting

·         3D computer modelling to visually inform the client of their proposed building form

·         Building Renovation Design

·         Design Documentation & Building Product Specification

·         Tender Preparation & Evaluation

·         Contract Administration / Project Management / Construction Monitoring, to ensure the project completes on time and within budget. Here Arch-Services teams up with Cost Planners and Quality Inspectors.

Moreover, in the face of climate change, global warming and sea level rising; AU is taking a step further in its design approach as it embarks now to adopt suitable Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) principles that are appropriate within the context Kiribati.
