This week, a senior staff member from the Energy Department inspected Eita, and it was confirmed that the meter box installed by the contractor was registered under the Ministry’s regulations and had the required work permits.

The inspection officer noted several minor issues with the wiring in the meter box installation. The meter box, which serves as the main connection point between the household and the PUB-supplied public electricity supply, must be renewed.

Therefore, the household is not permitted to use electricity until all the requirements and issues identified by the inspection officer have been addressed.

The EPD inspector inspects many households, but some are not allowed to use electricity until the inspector’s concerns have been resolved.

This demonstrates the important role of the Ministry in preventing problems before households are connected to electricity, ensuring safety for the community.
