Project Planning Unit
Project Planning Unit (PPU) is currently comprising a Senior Project Officer, Project TA, and 2 Project Finance Officers. The latter two staff are currently paid from donor funded projects. However, there is a plan under the MISE’s Organization Restructuring to expand the Unit with an additional two (2) new permanent establishments of one Project Officer and a Procurement Officer.
The core responsibility of the Unit is to develop systematic and coordinated management of the Ministry’s projects to ensure efficient and effective execution and implementation. The tasks include facilitating infrastructure sector planning, capacity building in project processing and funding, use of project templates, preparation of project briefs (manually and through IFMIS) and procurement procedures for MISE divisions and SOEs.
Other important tasks of the unit are: -
- developing and maintaining of project database;
- project monitoring and reporting;
- taking the lead in the preparation and coordination of MISE’s annual development budgets and MSPs;
- facilitating the preparation of MISE annual workplans;
assist in facilitating the coordination, preparation and arrangements of MISE donor and development partners’ meetings.
