Cost Planning Division

The Costing division played an integral part of the Ministry for more than 40 years using the preferred Bill of Quantities for any request relates to costing (excel format). Recently, in 2023, with the use of (Buildsoft Estimating software introduced to CPD, we found out that this software is more accurate and save a lot of time compared to the use of Excel. 

In summary, CPD consists of 6 permanent staff with the inclusive of transitional 2 civil estimators early this year 2024. CPD had managed to complete all tasks requested from different Ministries, Communities and NGOs in different stages.

The core duties of the Costing division are as follow

• Provision of cost estimates (Bill of Quantities) for any new building developments to both Government and private clients, SOE’s using a preferred standard method of measurement.
• Provision of Preliminary estimates for all types of preliminary designs ranging from small to medium and large commercial buildings requiring early budgeting during the preliminary design stage
• Provision of cost assessments required on any maintenance works to existing government buildings and non-government buildings when required.
• Undertaking value of works on site for any government contracted out buildings and including non-government buildings when required.
• Assess of progress claims for administered contracted out buildings.
• Assess and approve variations for administered contracted out buildings.
• Provides construction list of materials from Priced bill of quantities.
• Provides construction timeline from priced bill of quantities for any building developments when required from time to time.
• Assisting in contract administration for any ongoing building developments should be required from time to time.
